For a few days each spring, along with the annual smelt (a small food fish for those that are curious) return, we end up with bald eagles along the Cowlitz River. The weather conspired against me getting the picture I really wanted, but here's one. At one point, I counted two juveniles and three mature balds between Lexington and Kelso.
Back in December, I watched two balds fight over a fish one of them waded off the sandbar to get. Very cool!!!
